Description: Annual or perennial undershrub, erect to c. 0.5 m tall. leaves; lamina 1 – 4 X 0.3 – 2.2 cm, ovate to oblong, or lanceolte to linear, obtuse t apex, base subtruncate to rounded, rarely orbicular, coarsely crenate-serrate, minutely stellate on both surfaces, glabrescent above, 3 (-5)-veined at base, pinnately veined; petiole 2 – 15 mm long, stellate-pubescent; stipule 2 – 4 mm long, linear. Flowers solitary-axillary or in clusters of 3 – 5. Pedicel 2 – 5 (-8) mm long, accrescent to 10 mm, jointed above midway. Mericarps 5, 2 – 3 mm long with 2 short awns at apex 1 – 1.5 mm long, laterally with prominent, reticulate veins, apex and awns shortly stellate-pubescent. Seeds c. 1.5 mm long, ovoid, obscurely trigonous, brownish-black, glabrous.
