Description: A large straggling or scrambling deciduous bush or shrub, to about 3 (rarely up to 8) m tall. Leaves decussate-opposite; petiole 0.5-3 cm long; leaf blade 1-9.5 (rarely to 13) cm long, 1.5-6 cm wide; inflorescences tomentose, racemifor-panicles, 2.5-5 cm long; corolla large, yellow, 4-5 cm long. Fruit a succulent drupe, yellow when ripe, with watery or soapy exudates, 1.8-2.8 cm long. Endocarp 1-2-celled and -seeded.
